Lazy days of summer

It's been HOT in North Carolina and it doesn't leave us much energy for anything but laying around. So we've been doing a lot of lounging in Mom's bed...

Ellie is the queen of lounging

Ben just likes to pretend he's not staring at the kitty so he doesn't get in trouble.

We ALL know what he's doing...

On Saturday Mom got up early and took us to the ball field to play. We hadn't been out of our yard for a LONG time. Mom says we've turned into unsocialized hooligans! Can you believe it?
Us??

Ben and I practiced our big air frisbee skills!
And ran around like crazy.
Here is Ben "smiling" for the frisbee. He gets so excited. Mom should of named him Dracula!

"Frisbees and kitties... Frisbees and kitties... Frisbees and kitties..."

And what was Ellie was doing this whole time?!? She was surveying the perimeter for intruders.

And barking at leaves when they blew by. Just to let us know...

And rolling in mud puddles eventhough she hates water! Only a mother could love that face!
Just kidding! We all love Ellie. Especially after a bath!

Summer Time

Sorry! I've been gone for so long. We've been so busy in NC but below are some pictures from a recent adventure to Stone Mt.

We climbed all the way to the top in 90 degree heat. We were super tired but the view was worth it!

Mom decided to take pictures of us while we were resting!

Mom caught me laughing in this one. Something was super funny!

Here's one without Jack.

After the climb, we got to go swimming in the stream. Mom only took one picture because we started being naughty and chasing other dogs. We had to go home after that!

Us, naughty?? I don't think so!

We all got baths when we got home. Mom tried to give Ben a mohawk!

In other news, we have a new foster. Sadie came to us after living the first 6 months of her life on a chain in someone's backyard. She is very happy to be free and loves to run in the backyard with us!

Mom even gave her one of my brand new rawhides. She wasn't quite sure what to do at first. Silly!
Look how cute she is! She'll be up for adoption in a week!

Hope you are all having a great summer!

To Grandmother's House We Go....

Mom's grandma is very sick so we got in the car and travelled 12 hours to Michigan. Mom said we "drove her crazy" but we made it. And we couldn't wait to play frisbee with Grandpa when we got there!

We had TONS of energy!

Ben thought he was going to get a chance to carry the frisbee back to Grandpa...

But of course, I won! "Keep watching Buddy... I'll play when I'm good and ready"

Ellie spent the ENTIRE time searchig for critters in the vines. She thinks she's a mighty hunter!

And Sammy just hung out in the grass...

Or got scratches from Grandpa.

Mom took turns taking us to Great-Grandma's nursing home. Ellie and Sam went first but were BORED!

The next day Ben got to go. He sat outside with everyone on the gazebo.

And watched some ducks in the river.
And they watched him back...

They even came on the gazebo for a closer look. Amazingly, Ben didn't try to eat them! I guess they aren't as tasty as kitties.

Finally, it was my turn. As Mom predicted, this is where I spent my visit. You'd think she'd learn by now that I don't like ANYTHING with wheels, esp. wheelchairs and walkers!

We're back in NC now and trying to get back to our routine. Sam got an application at his first adoption fair so he may be leaving us shortly! :(

Little Sam

Sam is up and about and feeling much better! Mom took a TON of pictures of him this weekend. She didn't take ANY of her own "children" though!

Here are a few of Sammy :)

I'm BACK!!

PEEK-A-BOO!! Remember me?

Mom finally returned from some place call Peru! And we all got to come home from our "vacation"!

"Huh? You were on vacation? I was stuck at some strange girl's house and didn't eat for 2 weeks. And then I got taken to the vet and put on medicine. That's no vacation!"

Bummer! At least we're all home now! And Mommy's here! And we get to sleep in her bed again!

And look what she brought us! This little guy was found wandering the streets. BUT then we found out he had Parvo (I had that when I was little, too!). He spent a scary week at the vet but made it through! And got to come home this week! He's still locked up in the cat room that Mom has re-named "Isolation" but we KNOW he's in there... We can smell him... And we talk to him through the door!

The best part is, we think he's Ellie's biological half-brother! We heard through the grapevine that the women who had Ellie's Dog Mom did not get her spayed as she had promised. Another litter of puppies were the result and we're guessing this is one...

Can you see the resemblance? They have the same eyes, the same facial hair (although Mom trims Ellie's beard) and the same weird, long body with turned out feet.

And they both LOVE to eat more than anything! :)

He'll be going up for adoption in a few weeks but he has to get healthy and strong first! Mom wants him to go to someone she knows so he can have play dates with his sister!

That is all the updates I have for now! Mom has been really busy with the little guy and hasn't had much time for adventures. All she does is bleach things and make yummy-smelling food concoctions. Hopefully this weekend we'll be able to get some swimming in!
